We’ve Moved!

We’ve been blogging about the special needs of managing creatives for more than four years here at Creative Reaction. You may not have been aware that we also explained the technical infrastructure needs of creative businesses at our fusion IT blog site.

And then Twitter came along. We kept separate Twitter handles to brand each blog separately, though having two blogs and (ultimately) three Twitter handles got to be too much. So we’ve rebranded and consolidated everything in one place under a new name - ka-POW-er!

CR Has a New Look – For Now.

We installed a new theme over the weekend, and while we love the new features (tag cloud, FINALLY!) we had to choose function over form. We had hoped to modify the theme so that the existing black/green/orange look wasn’t entirely lost, but there are only so many hours (and then it’s time to eat).

Where I Write

I came across Where I Write in Wired magazine. It is a photo essay by Kyle Cassidy, which documents the creative work spaces of Science Fiction and Fantasy writers. Soon the photos as well as interviews with the authors will be compiled into a book. Where I Write is now in the sidebar (under “Inspiration”) along with On My Desk and This Ain’t No Disco. Check them all out and be inspired!

Updated Links

I’ve updated some of the Blogs I follow in the Sidebar. Apparently there’s a WordPress bug which isn’t allowing me to put them into categories the way I’d like; they keep ending up in the “Creative Tools” category. (I’ll upgrade to WordPress 2.8 over the weekend.)

UPDATE – WordPress v. 2.8 upgrade fixed the issue!

Fell Off My Horse

I tend to keep my personal/business life out of my blogging because I honestly want it to be for my readers and not about me, though since I dropped down to only a post each week in October and *none* (ouch!) in November, I should at least offer an explanation.

I mentioned trying to squeeze twenty hours into a busy week to study for a certification exam way back on September 18th in Taking Care of Yourself is Taking Care of Business, which led to admittance into an Apple Advanced Training Camp for which I started another blog, then I studied for another certification exam. The Camp (in early November) lasted a week, which led to a backlog of work, and all the while I’ve seen a significant increase in business. So I’m not being lazy – I’m just experiencing some growing pains. Time to climb back on. Oh, and I’m re-reading the above post.
